Our society is largely based on norms, which is why it can be very difficult to fall out of them. Sexuality and gender identity is a big part of each of us. Whether queer or straight, cis or trans, we all know that our identity belongs to us and defines us.

In the alphabet salad of LGBTQIA+, there are many identities and you may even find yourself in it. We also represent three of these letters ourselves: Janyn the B and Sam both the T and the Q. Now, in the Being Queer department, we stand up for LGBTQIA+ students at the Hochschule Niederrhein.

Of course, the complex topic also raises many questions, some of which we have not yet asked ourselves. But we have also experienced a lot in our queer lives, which means we may be able to answer some questions. No matter how big or small the questions are, we are happy to answer them. However, being part of the community doesn't make us experts in all areas. Just like you, we are constantly learning.
