Dear fellow students,
within the last few days, more and more students have reached out to us who are facing financial difficulties due to the corona pandemic. This can be, among other things, due to the fact that they did not receive the financial support from the government or because of the loss of their job due to Corona. Therefore together with the university executive the AStA of the Hochschule Niederrhein has set up an emergency fund for students who may not be able to continue their studies due to these financial difficulties. Up to € 500 will be given to students in need once and without any repayment obligation.

These aids will be reviewed and awarded by the AStA board and the senate president Dr. Oecking equally.
Applications can be submitted from now on until April 30th, 2021. The payment will be made as soon as possible after receiving the application and subsequent examination.
Applications have to be sent via post to the AStA office in Krefeld West - Adlerstr. 35 - 47798 Krefeld.
IMPORTANT: Please make sure that your documents are complete! Incomplete applications cannot be processed and the processing time can be significantly extended!

Dear fellow students,
we are happy that we could help so many of you. Unfortunately, however, the money in the Corona Emergency Aid Fund has now been used up and so we are unable to accept any further applications.
We are in contact with the university and are currently discussing how to continue with the Corona emergency aid in the future and how we can support you again next semester.

The income limit is 861 € or it's based on your BAföG maximum rate. This value is a guideline and is checked individually by the AStA chair and the senate president based on your financial situation.

Yes. If this is not “your” child benefit but for your child. Don't worry: Your child is an additional person in the household and is taken into account accordingly in the income limit.
Yes, regardless of whether it is a one-time or regular payment.
Yes, the loan will be converted into emergency aid so no debts will be made. If the loan amount is below € 500, the difference can be paid.
Yes, but the reimbursement of the semester ticket is counted as income.
We calculate the average income over the past three months up to the day before the application.
